Fruits of our labour

Joined a local conservation group today to help in a Community Orchard. Started off by picking these apples. When the branches were out of reach, one of the men climbed the tree and we held a sheet out underneath. Great fun! This was followed by hot drinks and home made apple pie and then some digging. Lots of chatting and I am planning to join them again next week to help tidy up a disused railway platform, which is now part of a walk. (I used to go on a train to school which stopped at this station - one of the victims of the Beeching cutbacks)
