Figs

A friend said we could have the figs from her trees and this morning we went to pick them. They're not all ripe yet, but there were plenty for us: we picked about 6 kilos of the green variety and 2 kilos of black ones. These are some of them waiting to be eaten fresh, turned into jam, halved and frozen for making fig tarts in the winter and preserved whole in syrup.
