Homeward bound
Heading home and no matter what time of the day it is it always looks impressive to me although officially its called the Jubilie Bridge its still known to far too many as The Runcorn Bridge unless you live in Widnes then its called The Widnes Bridge haha
This shot is from the Widnes side and funny enough on Widnes railway station is a plaque to signify where Paul Simon wrote the words for Homeward Bound although local heresay says it could have been the other railway station that was in Widnes called Ditton Junction but that wouldnt work as its shut down now haha
Simon is quoted as saying "if you'd ever seen Widnes, then you'd know why I was keen to get back to London as quickly as possible" and tonight there was the not so sweet smell of the animal rendering plant wafting across the bridge - in the past when Warrington played Widnes (rugby league) we'd wear the paper dusts masks when they ran on the pitch as they used to be called the Cheicals with ICI splashed on their shirts.
