One Step at a Time

Enter the Dragon

Probably a more applicable title for our day out in Cardiff but this is the church of St George he of dragon slaying fame and the church is going through transformation as part of the Dragon projects so I think I'm on safe ground.

There's a couple of things I like about this picture. Firstly, the church is located on what is essentially a traffic island with cars constantly rushing hither and thither around it. So I'm pleased I got fours shots (this is a pano) with no cars or road furniture in the frame. Secondly, it looks like a beautiful day but in actually fact it was cold, wet and windy when I left the office and this was really just a little window of sunshine.

On the downside, there's quite a bit of distortion on the sides. Hey ho.

For the history fans, it was built in 1836-8 under the watchful eye of architect was J.J. Scoles. For the J.A.Chatwin fans, yes, he was eventually involved when the building was transformed in 1884-5 by the addition of another nave, chancel and aisle. I think the other thing I've learned today is that I know nothing about church terminology.
