Urban sunset

Behind the yarn shop on 25th Street.

I grew up in the country, now I live in the city, and I didn't move! Growing up, we had an unobstructed view of the sunset, and sunrise, too. Now, with neighbors everywhere you turn, mostly what you see is trees and houses, and you have to listen to barking dogs. It is still a "rural" area, but not like it used to be. We had lots of dairy farms out here. Now, we just have houses. As long as the father was alive, he operated the farm, and wouldn't consider selling. But, as soon as dad was gone, the kids couldn't divest themselves of the land fast enough. Don't want those messy cows, just all the money we can get selling the land to developers. And......that's progress?

By the way, this photo is in Ogden where I work, not in West Haven where I live.
