some of the architecture around this rural station reminds me how much I think I might have enjoyed being alive in the 50's, when railways had their heyday.

I hate the stripping out of much of the victorian metalwork on platforms, bridges and roofs across the network. I know the maintenance is costly but the beauty is still something worth preserving.
