Sea Boreen

A boreen makes an easy path from the road to the sea at Kitchen Cove. It dog-legs down below a high stone revetment before heading down to the strand. Trees frame the boats and the distant outline of Mount Gabriel.

At high tide the waves lap the roots of the last land-trees, exposing a knotted step onto the pebbles. Bladder-wrack piles thickly against them - a tangled, deep-pile ocean carpet.
