The Moment

He stood with camera poised, a smile I've never seen before upon his lips. My heart was so full in those 3o seconds that the vein in my forehead was throbbing, the blood threatening escape to provide relief. Something happened on the porch of that little house in Maine; as sure as the smell of the salty sea surrounding us, I knew in that very moment and without doubt that he would ask me to be his wife.
