Leaf and feather

Looking around the garden for inspiration on this dull, dank day I spotted this fallen feather on a decaying leaf. The contrast of the perfection of the feather with the jagged skeleton of the leaf really struck me. It is echoed throughout the garden at this time of year when some plants are still producing glorious flowers whilst others are turning into brown mush. No real frosts yet here - that will be the next development that should help to create some striking images.
