Silk weaving

On the road from Bangalore to Mysore there is a small village at the heart of Indian silk production. This is the point where the pupae have been boiled to kill them and here the workers find the end of the silk thread and start collecting it on to bobbins.
The place is hot (the boiling water is provided by a wood fired cauldron in the middle of the factory floor) noisy and smoky.
It was a fascinating visit (especially since it's off the tourist trail)
The first of what I hope will be a fortnight of blips ... Hurrah
