Beginings

My head hurts so much, it's difficult to concentrate... or move... or breathe.

I'm suddenly noticing every noise around me, but can't piece them apart. I can't even eavesdrop with any kind of accuracy. I just pick up fragments:
"...sleep four hours..."
"...turn the TV off..."
"...do you want an umbrella with that?"
