Walking Man
For a city that isn't designed for pedestrians, this weekend has been full of walking. Retracing my steps, google map informs me the distance in total is just short of 15km....
Today we took a cab out to Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art which is near Education City. Following on from last week's visit to the Damien Hirst exhibit, I will reiterate that I have neither really been a fan of Modern Art. Coupled with most of the permanent works being out of bounds due to a temp installation going in, we were in and out of the Mathaf in just short of 20mins.
Being unable to hail a cab this far out of town, we then set off on foot in the direction of Aspire Park. Some 1.5hrs later we arrived like 3 weary travellers. After a well deserved refuelling stop we had a walk around Aspire Park amazed by the quality of the facilities. Oh, and we also dropped into the Villaggio Mall which interestingly has both a blue sky/clouds painted ceiling and a canal complete with gondolas through it. This place beggers believe sometimes...
