Viking?
Largs does try. The Battle of Largs took place in 1263, when Alexander III defeated Haakon IV Haakonsson, King of Norway. Nowadays, there is little about the town to suggest what happened all these centuries ago, though the boarded up pubs and former restaurants tell of another kind of destruction.
However, as we walked back to the car along the windy promenade today, I clocked this big chap, who I'm sure was not there the last time I looked. In a day of drizzle and wind, this was the only photo I took. It's not much of a photo, but it was my life today ...
