Mint Bridge - Kendal 35 Widnes 34

Taking a break from watching the rugby league world on TV I headed off to watch some local rugby union. It's a while since I've been here at the local rugby club, somewhere I was once at 3 times a week for training and games. My old hometown club of Widnes were in town today so my dad came up and we popped along to watch. I imagine I was probably the only person there to have played for both teams at some point.

It was good to get out and watch the game and support the local club though even if it was a bit chilly. A tight game was won by Kendal by a point. Kendal bullied Widnes in the forwards from the off and had at least their fair share of decisions from the ref which helped. But Widnes tried to push things a little in attack and should really have still won but couldn't match up to the more streetwise Kendal forwards.
