Ticking Away the Moments

Good Food...

We went to the Good Food show at Olympia last year and enjoyed it, so I booked tickets for us to go this year again. I hadn't realised that it was the same date as the England v New Zealand game but we didn't get a chance of tickets for that this year anyway.

We were originally going to stay down there and make a weekend of it but decided to just go down for the day on the train. The show was great again, think this could become an annual trip.. Lots of tasters, both food and drink and we've found something to replace Toffoc as a favourite - Polish vodka with honeycomb flavour. Can highly recommend...

We watched Michel Roux Jnr on the main stage and had a quick trip round the show again to buy the things we'd liked most (the above mentioned vodka, a Spanish brandy based liqueur, Cornish sea salt, some Japanese sparkling sake & gyoza plus dipping sauce, yogurts with a free coolbag, an elephant container with teabags & some organic coconut oil). Then we walked round the corner to a pub we thought would have the England game on - it was almost empty, due to the fact that they didn't have sky, but told us where the nearest pub was so off we went.

Got there in time to see the last 10 mins of the 1st half plus the 2nd half - enjoyed it even though we didn't win, the subs bench didn't do us any favours this time. Great atmosphere in the pub which was packed, so lots of cheering on England.

A fantastic day, really have enjoyed it - think we're both exhausted now and very glad to be home again.
