Not many birds around this morning so I took a walk and looked down instead of up. West Virginia always surprises me - the ground is mostly shale, but also has a lot of mossy things and bizarre mushrooms. From a distance it's very hard, but close up can be quite soft.
I helped my dad rake leaves and found loads of black fuzzy caterpillars, which I gathered up and put at the base of a tree for safekeeping (and blipping). I went to get my camera and when I came back, they were all gone. I took a picture of where they had been and ended up liking it just as much.
