Looking Glass Falls

Today I went on a hike with Jo because Erin had to go to work. He took this shot of me beside Looking Glass Waterfall. Afterwards we drove along the famous Blue Ridge Parkway with lovely views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, then hiked to the top of Black Balsam Mountain. This mountain is quite rounded at the top because it is so ancient. Apparently it was once part of the same land mass as Scotland. It sure feels like Scotland with the cold, damp mist and the heather and bracken underfoot!
