Caffe Rosso
Slow Saturday morning.
Coffee and the newspaper in pajamas.
Leisurely walk through the fields in the sunshine...
Red Tailed Hawk circling in the sky
being dive-bombed by a small bird.
Drastically pruned the geranium and revealed blooming Bird of Paradise.
Cut off all the dead Canna Lilies
Dana came and hauled ten bags of gravel.
through the upper field to the new tool shed.
Dumped the gravel and spread it all around the tool shed,
so it will no longer be a mud hole
Had a glass of wine and admired the view.
Had another glass of wine inside when it got cold.
It seemed like seven, bur it was only five,
when we decided to go to Rosso for pizza , or maybe spaghetti and meatballs.
The beautiful sunset faded as we drove there,
and it was dark when we arrived.
Rosso was full of families with kids,
We opted for take-out and another glass of wine as we waited.
The kids at the next table were kneading pizza dough.
The waitress took their creations away for baking in the wood fired oven.
They came back with a little container of marinara sauce.
We drove home with our pizza and salad.
And enjoyed them in the quiet of our own dining table.
Tomorrow will mark our one year anniversary under this roof.
A It was a pleasant day....
