Inspiration

A wonderful speaker at the camera club tonight, Shamil Khairov. A lecturer in Russian studies at Glasgow University, his photographs are of his homeland. They are beautiful especially the unspoiled distant villages, but it was his total engagement that had the audience enthralled.
I was inspired by his simple but effective style, but slightly saddened that he does not feel so engaged with Scotland, I hope he begins to feel comfortable with his photography here. As a proud Tartar, he will have no problem empathising with we feisty Scots!
