Cromwell's Clock Tower

All that remains of Cromwell's Citadel which was located a few hundred yards away from this tower. Now in an industrial area near the Harbour. Stones from Fortrose Cathedral and Beauly Priory were used in the construction of the Fort in 1652. A glimpse of the past. A very impressive structure in its day, with a tidal moat no less!
