Everyone knows that Henry VIII was a busy guy. He died in his mid-50s and his waist measurement was much the same. Prior to this sad event he'd managed to marry six times, create the Church of England as an entity separate from the church of Rome, the Dissolution of the Monasteries, chucked tons of chicken bones over his shoulders, lay the foundations for the Royal Navy, write Greensleeves, beat the Scots at Solway Moss and take Boulogne and hold it for a while before ransoming it back to the French.

In amongst all this he also granted a Royal charter to "The Master, Wardens, and Assistants of the Guild, Fraternity, or Brotherhood of the most glorious and undivided Trinity, and of St. Clement in the Parish of Deptford-Strond in the County of Kent.". A bit of a mouthful so it is generally known as the Corporation of Trinity House of Deptford Strond or just Trinity House - it is the General Lighthouse Authority for the British Isles (Except some outlying bits like the Isle of Man and Scotland. No idea who looks after Scotland.......

This lighthouse is at Dungeness and was built in 1904 and is thought to be the fourth light here; the first being in 1615. This one is around 150 ft tall and was decommissioned in 1960 to be replaced by an automated light a wee bit along the road.

So I went all the way to Dungeness in search of a blip for you, dear Bliposphere. The weather was driech; misty with a flat, grey overcast. Later the mist fell and it was foggy on the way home. Before I could do blipping I went to get a new pair of walking boots and some incense. I was incensed when I found that Millets had closed the local shop so I scooted along to the Designer Outlet at Ashford. I agree with Sartre that "Hell is other people" and the retail park was a special kind of hell. I managed to find a new pair of boots though and they are green; get over it. Not sure how they will work with a dark suit but who cares?

Then down to Dungeness where - because I love you one and all - I even got the tripod out to take this shot. There are people in this country who have never visited Dungeness; if you are one of them I recommend you correct this oversight as soon as you can. Today there were very few visitors and most were carrying a DSLR - it's that kind of place.

Just a Sunday evening to get through and then we can all enjoy a lovely Monday! Let's get in amongst it!
