Tufted Duck (m) - Aythya fuligula

The birds at the boating lake in Kirkcaldy's Beveridge Park were having a feast this afternoon. First a mother turned up with two toddlers and a WHOLE loaf of sliced bread. Next a father appeared with one toddler and TWO WHOLE LOAVES! . . . and so it went on. In my youth, the ducks were lucky to get a few stale crusts now and again. Isn't there supposed to be a recession on?

The good news from the park is that the colour-ringed coot is still there.
