New Anemone

Anemone coronaria

I had decided not to enter any more anemones, and then this one opened. It grew from a tuber newly planted this year and is a bit later than the well established ones. The dark blue smudges on the petals are part of the colouring. The petal ends have little tufts of white hairs.

We have had a very warm day. At 6.30am it was already 17 degrees C (63F). By lunchtime it was 23C. I keep thinking of the snow we had late September last year.
