A Remembrance of Times Past
I love looking down the River Clyde towards these cranes at the BAE shipyard in Govan. I'm lucky enough to see them from the window at work. I didn't know anything about them - that they are Berth Cranes - until I read Colin Templeton's beautifully composed entry early this month. It will be very sad to lose them from the skyline, and to lose another fragment from Glasgow's proud industrial past. They serve as a poignant reminder of the lost generations of working class working men.
