Waste not, want not

Isle of Purbeck: Worth Matravers

The fallen apples of last Sunday's blip - 14 boxes of them - have been transported up to Worth. They will soon be leaving the hopper to undergo a high-pressure wash on the slide.

Next they will be processed through an electric mill, to smash them up, thence straight into cheeses on the apple press where they will soon be pressed.

The juice will make cider. The residual dry apple pulp will be fed to cattle. It sharpens their appetite, a higher milk yield will be the result.

Note the Purbeck stone: drystone walling at rear and the grotesque quoin in the retaining wall at front.
