Gold

It was a crime to be stuck indoors on such a gorgeous day. Had to settle for an hour at lunchtime. Literally ran to the woods soon as the bell went for lunch. The trees are putting on their final hurrah with cold weather now forecast for the rest of the week.

I can't tell you how happy it makes me to wander through this golden wonderland. The beech leaves lit up like the trees were clad in gold coins. The lime trees doing their acid lime thing and a thick foxy brown carpet of leaf litter to walk through.
Then you have to tear yourself away and go back inside. You can practically feel the sunshine on this picture, but it was freezing!
