Everything here has a nickname. The Boston Commons - the Commons. Commonwealth Avenue - Comm Ave. The Massachusetts Pike - the Pike. Are you catching the trend? Yeah, well, it takes some time. And just when you think you've got it, you get it wrong.

But I found this tree at the Commons. I've walked past it a lot of times, but I saw it Thursday. Like I really saw it. Its colors, its contrast, its dimension. It's a tree. Just tree, no nickname.
