Elegant Esmee

Today I celebrated a friend's special birthday with lunch at Highgrove House, Troon, renown for its wonderful range of fish dishes. It was a perfect day for a drive to the Ayrshire coast, and the hotel's hilltop position affords a stunning view westwards over the Firth of Clyde to the mountains of Arran. These were topped with snow.

However the blip is of Esmee selecting a chocolate. These arrived for her on a decorated plate and was a lovely touch to complete a great lunch in the congenial company of long-standing friends. The sunlight was streaming in and just caught her fingers, drawing the eye to the plate and its lip-smacking contents! Another attractive element is the glass table which picks up her elegant reflection.
