First Snow of Winter

In a Birk Woodie near Fintry, Aberdeenshire.

At home, getting the car ready for a meeting, I went out in very light shoes, appropriate for the meeting. First mistake. Then I cleared snow off the windscreen – onto my feet. I got into the car, depositing snow all over the footwell carpet.

But the countryside was lovely. Except that our 'mountain', Bennachie, had almost no snow on it. Driving to Newmachar I was on the lookout for a picture to Blip. The low sun was, however, in the wrong place. If I wanted to get the snow plastered by the night wind on the north side of the tress, the sun, seriously bright, made a shot impossible. So I had to go into a wood. In my very light shoes. Worth it, though.
