First Snow

"Snow and adolescence are the only problems that disappear if you ignore them long enough."
Earl Wilson

Woke up this morning to light covering of snow. This is the perfect amount - just enough to make everything look magical but not enough to hamper getting around. Quote made me think of both the angst of my own adolescence and also of how difficult it is for some of the kids I work with. How can you put 'an old head on young shoulders' - so much potential and energy being misdirected? What is the lottery of meeting someone who will connect and give you the right advice at a time when you are open to it? Perhaps the comfort is in the quote - all things pass! But with the passing are the loss of the endless possibilities and energy of youth!
