over to big son's new house straight from work to offer DIY help. The car boot was full of tools, steps, bits of wood but most jobs were aborted when I discovered I had forgotten my drill bits, arghhhhhhhh. That now means I repeat the process again tomorrow night (and every other night until I get it right)

I did remember my camera and had time enough to pop down to Trent Lock for a very cold blip of the pub and canal. Not many people around and I was startled when two canoeists appeared out of the dark paddling into the lock. Great photo opportunity but tonight was just not meant to be, as they quite assertively asked me not to take a photo as they were supposed to have lights on.

to cap it off England lost with a dismal display as well! The Saddlers were much better last night won 2-0 on Sky, unheard of !
