Silage making

Most of today was spent making silage, and even though it rained this afternoon (there wasn't a great deal) the last of the grass made it to the pit by 7pm, the digger driver spread and squashed it down, and then came the terrible job of covering the pit and putting lots of tyres on the cover to hold it down. Another job over with thank goodness!

This shot is of the digger spreading and squashing the last load down. We estimate to have about 400 tonne of grass in the pit - enough to get us through next spring.
