Daughter 2 turned 23 today and celebrated by sitting for the oral defence of her honours thesis.

I think a glass or two of vino collapso may be consumed this evening now the ordeal is finally over. She deserves a good hangover tomorrow. It's been a tough year.

Twenty years ago she wasn't so tough. Even with Dad's coat on, her first taste of an English winter wasn't to her liking.
