Loch Creran, Oban.
Now we're in 3rd Year, Heriot-Watt organised a trip to Oban before the new semester starts. 3 minibuses (2 for students, 1 for gear) piled over west and descended on some beautiful chalets, 2 miles outside of Oban.
Surrounded by small hills, we had some of the best views of the night sky I've ever seen. Shooting stars, and I'm pretty sure a comet at one point were frequently dashing the vast black sky.
We took part in field sampling techniques, and later lab techniques in a makeshift taxonomy department in a tiny town hall. The whole trip was a fantastic insight into modern marine biology techniques, and what may come for the future...
If you have some time, please take a look at some of the other shots. This one I picked is by no means the best shot, just one of my favourites.
Thanks for looking!
