The M6 "Spaceship" Bridge

Continuing the theme of the M6 and indeed Sir Owen Williams designed bridges. This is the "Spaceship Bridge" carrying the M6 close to Ansty in Warwickshire. Popped by on my way back from Birmingham this morning. A favourite of mine for I often used to travel underneath with Grandparents on the way to Coombe Abbey when I was young. Somehow these places do connect.

Also today we received the news that Leicester has lost its bid to become city of culture 2017. Congratulations to Hull! I was sad that we had not succeeded but then realised that without the glaring expectation that the title brings, this city can probably achieve more and in a more organic way. Leicester already has outstanding cultural assets, we don't need to wait to show them off. Well done to the bid team who prepared and pitched valiantly!
