The weather may have taken a distinct turn for the wintry out there but already there have been rumours of an inaugural Blip crown green bowling tournament when the Spring eventually comes round.

So, as I was doing some general tidying up anyhow I decided to retrieve my Grandad's monogrammed set of crown green bowls (mother of pearl inlays, they didn't mess about in those days) and give them a quick polish. When my Grandad hung up his track race bike he turned to crown greens. I always remember being impressed as a kid by all the trophies he had in his front room - and a really cool photo of him holding a trophy with his ray bans on like a proper dude. I'll try not to let you down Grandad - bring it on fella's!
