A gathering of eider.

The eider ducks, or ennets as they are known hereabouts, are looking at their most splendid following their annual moult. Being an Arctic species they are much enjoying the onset of winter, their favourite season.

I'm not sure if there is a collective noun for eiders, if there isn't then I would suggest that a splendour, or a softness (based on eider down) would be apt. Any other ideas?
