The Glen of the Bar

Today we spent the day exploring some of the surrounding area. We fell in love with Kirkcudbright which is down by the Solway Firth and visited a local smokehouse and picked up all manner of delights. On the way back to the cottage we were happened to take New Galloway Forest Park road home. Our surroundings changed from a beautiful, but cold, clear day to a winter wonderland. So magical!

This was the ‘Glen of the Bar’, a platform which went out over the glen with a spectacular view. Not for the faint hearted but it was such an amazing photo opportunity I couldn’t resist!
