Today I travelled to Essen in Germany where I'll be attending a conference in the Ruhr Museum and Zollverein complex for the next three days. I'm not being very adventurous tonight as I'm tired and it's cold and dark outside. I did go out for a quick wander round the neighbourhood where my hotel is though. and stumbled across this poster. A few years ago I'd have been changing my travel plans to stay on in Essen to see Placebo. Now, however, I just felt a little rueful because if they'd been here while I am it would certainly be a way to fill an evening! Also, very random that they appear to be playing at the colliery where my conference is!!
