A colleague?s nephew was killed serving in Afghanistan last week and he's helping organise the funeral and keep going as normal so was back in the office today. It's very sad that someone so young had to die and it seems so pointless. It's so rare that people are touched by combat deaths that it's had quite a deep effect on our office. It reminds me that only two generations ago millions of young men went away to war and didn't come home, so much so that a death to a family member wouldn't be unusual.

To all those that are still fighting and serving our country, stay safe and thank-you for being willing to make such a sacrifice for us.
