Montrose
7.1C starting bright then becoming wet and quite stormy through the afternoon and evening.
Since we visited Steptoe's Yard just North of Montrose last year at this time and found a small cabinet for one corner of our living room we have had a notion to find another piece for the opposite corner. This morning we made a return trip to Steptoe's and after a good hunt through the better showroom shed and the enormous freezing cold pile it high and find it if you can shed we were lucky enough to find a little cabinet which we both liked and get it by offering a price which the owner of the yard said he would eventually would have come down to if pushed. Result.
On our way back South we stopped off in Montrose to look round a small Antique shop. Not as nice as Abernyte or Rait. We went to Tesco and bought some things for a late lunch and some good wax polish for the cabinet. As we left Montrose to head South for Arbroath and Carnoustie we stopped at the bridge over the Esk and got some shots of these oil industry supply vessels in an almost identical blip to the one on last year's trip.
Apothecary7 decided to spend the rest of her afternoon washing the cabinet and polishing it up with the wax polish then we installed it in the corner of our living room where it fits very well. Apothecary7 has put her Gouda vase fromyesterday's trip to add the finishing touch :-)
My blip is late being posted this evening as I have found it impossible to upload for some hours. I'm glad I got it posted at last :-)
