seed pods

I have no idea what types of seed pods these are--they were growing on the branches of a tree that had broken off from the main trunk & was partially laying on the ground. I thought they were really interesting looking! If you look at the bunch underneath the white-colored ones, you can see that one of the pods in the bunch is starting to split open, & that the inside looks light colored, like the one that is totally opened in the picture. Almost looks like leather. Another amazing feat of nature! :)
