Fivepenny, Ness
Today is the sort of day that it is never really going to get very light! Thank goodness though the gales have gone, and it is a sharply cold, dry day. I like this view taken from Fivepenny Machair, looking through all the way down into Port of Ness. The water in the foreground is testament to all the rain we have had lately. The small strip of water in the middle ground is just a hint of Loch Stiapabhat, the largest eutrophic loch in Lewis. It is situated on the main flyway from and to the Atlantic so is a bird watchers paradise.
