Rebirth

Watching the Agapanthus produce new flowers is a rite of spring for me. The buds are beautiful and open to form trumpet shaped flowers.

The name is derived for the Greek words "agape" and "anthos" which means "love flower". The English names are far more prosaic "African lily" and "Lily of the Nile" - both are misnomers since the plant is closely related to the Amaryllis.
