To Get a New Angle on Things

These are the gates leading to Ballaugh Old Church in the Isle of Man.

They have been photographed many times. I think that they are delightfully eccentric. The more so because they are right by the road side. You really do not want to meet a wagon or a 4X4 coming the other way whilst driving past then.

I have never noticed it before, but does it look to you as if the pinnacle of each gate post has been constructed at a later date so as to be more or less vertical or am I just imagining that?
