The view from within....

.... the sweat lodge!
A glorious day today, bright and crisp - our friends Finola and Robert came round for lunch and an explore. Hearty soup, homemade bread and it was off down to the sweat lodge sweatlodge to get Finola's professional opinion - she being an archaeologist. She wasn't the only one interested. We all clambered down the rough steps into the building and three horses were very keen to get in too. It was only when we saw a bag of horse feed inside that we realised why. We are 90% sure that this is a sweat lodge but more investigation might be required.

Onwards round the lake to see the Whooper swans - one of whom was being chased very agressively by a resident Mute swan. A quick cuppa and bakewell tart then on to inspect a white quartz boulder burialboulder burial. The owner was working in the garden and came to chat with us - an interesting chap, a travel journalist. He's hoping to open a cafe in the summer where a cuppa can be taken whilst admiring the stones. Our final destination was a tiny holy well and then darkeness descended. Such a clear sky with so many vapour trails pinkly illuminated. An excellent day.
