Black-browed Albatross
We headed out to the islands today by taking a FIGAS Islander plane to Carcass Island, from where, after lunch, we went on a boat trip to West Point Island to see the colonies of Rockhopper Penguins and Black-browed Albatrosses.
The weather had been worsening steadily throughout the day, such that we had quite a rough voyage to the island and it was cold and windy. The photographic opportunities were not plentiful, especially given the bad light, and so my photos were nowhere as good as my last visit here in November 2011.
This is the best of the pick, of an albatross about to land in the tussac grass above the cliffs.
