Portraits .....
..... and slow shutters.
It's been a busy blip day today, not so much in terms of taking photos, but meeting lots of lovely blippers.
This afternoon, myself, Normie, Sara Evans, Chris of Annie and Chris, Marknlizzie and Uplymer met up at the National Portrait Gallery to visit the Taylor Wessing Portrait prize exhibition. The show was wonderful ( so much better than last year's ) and it was interesting being there with other blippers and hearing what made certain portraits stand out for them.
After a fun and inspiring hour or so at the exhibition, Myself, Chris, Normie and Sara popped over the road for a few drinks where we were joined by Annie ( who had been on a training course earlier ). The time in the pub flew by and myself and Sara had to leave as we were booked on a Slow shutter photography session/walk in Hyde Park. Also at the meet up was Smart London ( formerly London Sparrow ) who has been suffering with a cold all week ( I hope the chilly night in Hyde park hasn't made it any worse M ).
There were about a dozen of us in the photo meet up in Hyde park and we were set a number of half hour tasks, including photographing trees and car light trails. I felt a bit like a kid on a school trip who wanted to run off and play rather than learn what the teacher wanted us to but of the photos I did take, this one of Sara photographing the Serpentine gallery fitted the brief. Once the chilly three hours were up we all went for a drink in a local café before heading our separate ways.
It's been a fascinating day and has been really lovely to meet up with some blip pals again and to meet some for the first time. I took a lot of portrait photos today but after seeing the Taylor Wessing exhibition I don't feel any of them do the subjects justice, so today's blip is .....
..... Portraits and slow shutters.
A few more from the day here.
Post script.
One of the lovely ladies at last night's photo walk Conssitini has also just joined blip.
