One dustman, one photographer, and one fisherman..

....were the only other humans I encountered early this morning on the path along the Wareham river.

I have seen hundreds of photos of the river Frome in Wareham, and taken a good number myself (plus several this morning, the urge is too strong in such good lighting conditions). This photo gives an idea of the type of view you will have when walking along the south bank of the river into Wareham; there are several spots along the river suitable for taking the more dramatic type of photo, this is not one of them.

Wareham has two rivers, each running from west to east, towards Poole Harbour: the Frome, to its south, and the Piddle to its north. The Wareham river is the name for the section of the Frome passing through Wareham. It has a quay and was during the early middle ages the principal town and port of Poole Harbour, which was accessed by the short Wareham Channel. But the Channel eventually silted up and became unusable by ocean going vessels. Then the fishing town of Poole grew, and eventually eclipsed Wareham.
