Woodpecker
I guess the seeds, nuts and berries in the local woodland must be all but exhausted as suddenly the birds have arrived on our feeders in the elder tree. I had several things I needed to do today but an e-mail told me I had to wait in for Stephen the Delivery Man who would be arriving between 12.07 and 13.07. The e-mail also thoughtfully informed me that I was his 14th delivery and invited me to track where Stephen was on his rounds. That was quite useful because I could dive out to put the washing out, make a cuppa and visit the loo without worrying about my parcel once again returning to the depot. Stephen arrived at 13.00, thankyou Stephen! However, that meant the day of things to do didn't begin till then and I had to dive out to Bingley to catch the train to Leeds. Would you believe that I spent one hour in Leeds and: picked up some foreign currency; bought a USB (aren't they small and don't they pack a lot of GBs?!) and a new printer cartridge; exchanged my Radio Times voucher for 25% off a Wasgij; stocked up on chocolate oranges and some cards; called in at a new stationery store in the awful shopping Trinity centre and bought random stuff to fill holes in stockings, considered Body Shop and decided against it, diverted to Tourist Info Office for presents which will remain nameless.........went to the loo and got on the train home with 3 minutes to spare! Good job I'd blipped this woodpecker first thing in the morning or it would be another village bokeh tonight!
